Recipes
Which recipes and formats are listed?
Nom Nom describes Beef Mash as gently cooked. PetSmart’s label lists 1,194 kcal ME per kg as fed and all life stages; its retail title calls the food frozen. Cooked does not mean shelf-stable: it needs freezer storage.
Other listings name Chicken Cuisine, Chicken & Sweet Potato, Scoopable Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe and Scoopable Meal Clusters. Nom Nom lists Chicken Cuisine at 248 calories per cup, but a per-cup figure alone cannot support the same grams-a-day calculation.
Beef Mash has the weight-based calorie figure used for the daily portions here.

On the label
What does the Beef Mash label say?
PetSmart lists Beef Mash at 1,194 kcal ME per kg as fed. Nom Nom says it is formulated to meet AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large-size dogs.
The listed ingredients begin with ground beef, russet potatoes, eggs, carrots and peas. The all-life-stages statement does not set an individual puppy’s portion; ask your vet about feeding puppies, especially large-breed puppies.
Use the calorie figure for portion arithmetic and the life-stage statement to check suitability.

Owners and recalls
What do reviews and recall searches show?
On October 21, 2026, Nom Nom’s Trustpilot score was 4.3 out of 5 from 1,869 reviews. This is an owner-review score, not a feeding test or a rating assigned here.
A search of fda.gov on the same date found no recall notice naming Nom Nom. That is a search result, not a guarantee.
The review score and recall search answer different questions; neither establishes suitability for an individual dog.
Same dog, other brands
How do other brands compare?
For the same 30 lb adult needing an estimated 744 kcal a day, JustFoodForDogs Beef & Russet Potato costs $12.16 daily at its brand-store one-time price. Nom Nom Beef Mash costs $15.60 at PetSmart’s shelf price. Both prices were checked October 21, 2026.
JustFoodForDogs’ beef recipe is more calorie-dense, so the dog needs fewer grams. These are not equivalent subscription offers. The JustFoodForDogs review separates its one-time and introductory prices.

Who it fits
Who might find it practical?
Nom Nom may suit owners who want cooked food available in stores, an open shelf price and a weight-based calorie label for Beef Mash. Online subscription management is another option.
Owners without freezer space should look elsewhere. Those comparing budgets should get their subscription quote before deciding. Calorie estimates are starting points: weigh your dog monthly and adjust. The calculation method explains why estimates vary.
The practical questions are freezer space, daily cost and a portion matched to your dog.
